Pentasa 2gm Sachet is prescribed for treating acute episodes and preventing further occurrences of Ulcerative colitis, a condition affecting the large bowel (colon) and rectum, characterized by inflammation of the bowel lining. Symptoms include rectal bleeding, frequent diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Before taking this medication, discuss any allergic conditions, liver disorders, kidney disorders, sugar intolerance, or lung problems, especially bronchial asthma, with your doctor. The use of this medicine may lead to the development of kidney stones, so it’s essential to stay well-hydrated. Refrain from administering this medicine to children under 2 years of age. If you experience any serious skin reactions while taking this medication, discontinue its use.
Uses of Pentasa 2gm Sachet:
- Ulcerative Colitis (inflammation of the bowel lining)
Uses of Pentasa 2gm Sachet:
It hinders the activity of the cyclooxygenase enzyme, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins, substances responsible for inflammation in the colon, leading to a decrease in inflammation.
Interactions with other drugs:
By impeding the activity of the cyclooxygenase enzyme, it diminishes the production of prostaglandins, which are substances responsible for inflammation in the colon. This results in a reduction of inflammation.
