Leucorin 15mg Injection contains the active ingredient Leucovorin calcium, a substance chemically related to folic acid, and is classified as a folic acid analog. It is primarily used to prevent the harmful effects of methotrexate during the treatment of certain cancers. Additionally, it is used to treat individuals who have accidentally overdosed on methotrexate or similar medications. Leucorin is also used in combination with other anticancer drugs to treat colorectal cancer, which begins in the colon or rectum, and to treat anemia caused by low folic acid levels.
Do not use Leucorin 15mg Injection if you are allergic to Leucovorin calcium, calcium folinate, or any other components of this medication. It is also contraindicated in certain types of anemia (such as pernicious anemia or megaloblastic anemia) where there is a deficiency of vitamin B12. Before starting treatment, inform your physician if you have any form of anemia, or if you have kidney, heart, or liver issues. Also, let your physician know if you are taking medications for seizures. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as wheezing, difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the lips, face, or tongue.
