Introduction to Azee 500MG 5ML Injection
AZEE 500MG INJECTION contains Azithromycin which belongs to a group of medicines called Macrolide Antibiotics. It is used to treat localized infections caused by bacteria affecting different parts of the body. It is also used to treat serious infections such as pneumonia (lung infection), pelvic infections or when oral treatment is not possible in affected individuals.
AZEE 500MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic (hypersensitive) to azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), and/or ketolides.
Before receiving AZEE 500MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have heart problems (such as abnormal heart rhythms), kidney and/or liver problems.
AZEE 500MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women after consulting the doctor. The medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents which can be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years).
The most common side effects of receiving AZEE 500MG INJECTION are stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, flatulence, dizziness, and/or headache. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

AZEE 500MG INJECTION works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to growth) which results in its destruction thus preventing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
AZEE 500MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea. Consult your doctor and inform them if the symptom gets worse.
Constipation:
Try to eat high-fibre foods such as vegetables, cereals, fresh fruit, and drink plenty of water. Involve in regular exercise (going for a daily walk or run) and if this does not help, consult and inform your doctor to receive alternate treatments for constipation.

UNCOMMON
- Yeast infections of the mouth and vagina
- Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
- Feeling nervous
- Reduced sense of touch/sensation
- Sleepiness/sleeplessness
- Poor hearing/ringing in the ears
- Racing heartbeat, chest pain
- Constipation, fever
- Signs of inflammation of the liver such as jaundice (yellowing of skin and whites of eyes), loss of appetite, dark urine

RARE

- Signs of serious bowel inflammation such as severe/prolonged diarrhoea, which may have blood or mucus in it, during/after treatment
- Severe skin rash causing redness and flaking
- Rapid/irregular heartbeat
- Low blood pressure
- Serious skin reaction such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (associated with signs such as blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes and genitals), Toxic epidermal necrosis (associated with signs such as blistering of the skin), Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (such as small, itchy red bumps), and/or Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis skin (associated with signs such as skin eruption with rapid appearance of red skin studded with small pustules)
