Introduction
ALIZAP 30MG TABLET, which contains the active ingredient Apremilast, falls under the category of medications known as Phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitors. This medication is prescribed for adults with active psoriatic arthritis, a chronic inflammatory joint disease, particularly when disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, which are commonly used to manage arthritis, do not adequately control the condition.
Additionally, ALIZAP 30MG TABLET is indicated for the management of moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis, a persistent inflammatory skin condition, in cases where both phototherapy (a special light-based treatment) and systemic treatments (such as ciclosporin, methotrexate, or psoralen) fail to provide sufficient relief. Furthermore, this medication is approved for treating Behçet’s disease, a rare inflammatory disorder affecting blood vessels and various tissues, in adult patients.
Patients with an allergy to Apremilast should not use ALIZAP 30MG TABLET. Before starting ALIZAP 30MG TABLET, it’s important to tell your doctor if you have a low body weight, digestive system issues, sugar absorption problems (like lactose intolerance), significant kidney disease, or liver conditions (such as hepatic impairment).
Use of ALIZAP 30MG TABLET is generally discouraged during pregnancy and for women who are trying to become pregnant. Additionally, its use is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers, as it is unclear whether the medication is transferred through breast milk.
ALIZAP 30MG TABLET is typically not advised for children and teenagers under the age of 18 and should be used with caution in individuals aged 65 and older, following a doctor’s advice.
