This medication may lower the calcium levels in your blood. Include calcium-rich foods in your diet and undergo regular blood tests to monitor calcium levels. Stay well-hydrated to prevent dehydration and potential kidney damage. Temporary side effects like fever or flu-like symptoms, such as chills, tiredness, and weakness, may occur. You can use a pain reliever or fever reducer to manage these symptoms. Zoledronic acid may also pose a rare risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw, so regular dental check-ups are advised. If sudden jaw pain develops, inform your doctor. Monitoring your response to Zoledronic acid involves bone mineral density (BMD) tests, typically conducted every 1-3 years. Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
